Brexit – what you must do

When the UK exits the EU, the GDPR will no longer be law in the UK. However, the work schools have been doing to comply with the GDPR, will continue to be relevant after Brexit, as it is expected that the UK’s government will ensure that the DPA 2018 realigns to the EU GDPR law.

At the moment no one can say definitively the impact of leaving the EU will be to schools. The Departments of Education in all 4 nations have published preparation details. Further information about the impact Brexit may have on UK schools may be found here:

The advice from the Information Commissions Office is common to all the UK and is general for all organisations, not just schools.
